CutiePaTooties By Lauren Cloth Diaper Review and Giveaway {Sponsor Spotlight} Mother's Day Event #clothdiaperhop

CutiePaTooties

About Lauren:
How did you get started with your business?
I started cloth diapering my son and I wanted to provide affordable, high quality, adorable cloth diapers for everyone!

Who or what was your inspiration?
My inspiration is definitely my son! I wanted to cloth diaper him from the time he was born, but it was just way too much upfront money. Once I found affordable cloth diapers I wanted to share them with everyone! Even if it means I don't make much money, I just wanted to give everyone the opportunity to cloth diaper with affordable as well as high quality (and of course adorable!) cloth diapers.

How long have you been doing what you do?
I have been cloth diapering my son since he was about 15 months and he is now almost 2. I just started my business in January of 2012.

Cashmere Scarf Review and Giveaway {Sponsor Spotlight} Earth Day Event

My Little Cashmere House has given me this lovely recycled cashmere scarf to review. What could be greener than recycling?

About:
It all started three years ago. Anne discovered how to felt cashmere sweaters. She pulled out all the cashmere sweaters she had in her closet and put together a lovely blanket for her father. Cashmere, being so soft and luxurious, was even better when it was felted. Everyone adored it.
Anne Ligon and her sister started My little Cashmere House and have had their Etsy shop up for almost two years now.  Anne loves to create things that make people smile and keep them feeling warm. When she isn't scoping out thrift stores for sweater, she is spending time at Lake Tahoe; biking, hiking and kayaking.

This scarf is so unbelievably soft. As they say at My Little Cashmere House "It has to be FELT to be believed" It is very light and comfortable to wear. I am a big fan of wool. I have been using wool as a diaper cover for my baby at night. So, I know the power it has.

Did you know?

Cashmere is one of the best types of wool and it comes from a goat! It is more lightweight than other type of wool and it provides the best insulation.

This scarf was made from re-purposed cashmere wool sweaters. First it is felted, which is quite a process, turning it into a non-woven material. This makes it strong and machine washable. It also makes it even softer! Then each square is cut out and carefully serged together. The stitching on this scarf is beautiful.

What do I ♥ about it?

My favorite feature (besides how incredibly soft it is) is the stitching in contrasting color. Being a sewer myself I know how hard it is to keep the stitches nice and neat. I tend to use matching thread so you can't see my mistakes. I have yet to find a flaw on this scarf. You can tell that it was made with tender love and care.

What would I change?

Nothing!

Want to feel it for yourself?
Buy one here. My Little Cashmere House sells more then just scarves! They make safe kids toys and cozy blankets too!
Until June 1st, Earth Faerie Momma readers will get 10%off!! Just use the coupon code "10forearthday".

Win it!
Come back April 12th-22nd for the Earth Day event for a chance to win your very own scarf valued at $30.

Clean+Green Safe Stain and Odor Remover Review and Giveaway {Sponsor Spotlight} Earth Day Event

I have received this can of Clean+Green by SeaYu.

About SeaYu:

SeaYu was founded by Quincy Yu and her adorable dog Simon. Quincy's goal is to provide a clean safe home. Being a mother and having a busy house full of kids and pets is what drove her to create her cleaning products. These products are safe for the whole family and help to preserve the earth. Not to mention, they are super easy to use! Quincy has formulated a line of products that you can use on all surfaces of your home. Each one of them passes Simon's "sniff" test.

I chose to try the carpet and upholstery cleaner. I have a problem cat that does not always go in the litter box. I have tried numerous products for the urine smell. When I first tried Clean+Green, I was very impressed. I made sure the area was dry and I sprayed it on. That was it! No soaking, extracting, rinsing or scrubbing. The stream came out fast and strong. I bent down and gave the carpet a sniff. The smell was gone instantly. The odor was not masked by nasty fragrances either. It left a sort of sweet refreshing smell. So, I left the spot to dry and came back the next day. There was still a faint odor because I am sure the cat urine was pretty deep into the carpet. I gave it another round and that took care of the odor in that area, so I moved on to another spot.

Here is where I put it to the real test. Our cat has his favorite "go to" area (more like "go pee" area). Thankfully, I am able to lift up the carpet. I found that he has peed there more than once and it is going through to the carpet padding. I started by soaking up what I could with a towel and making sure it was dry. Then I carefully sprayed each layer. Right away Clean+Green helped to take away some of the discoloration in the padding. After one more application it has helped take away most of the smell. It has done better than any other product I have tried. We have a wood floor under the carpet. I have been pouring other cleaners onto the stains repeatedly, which is keeping the carpet and padding in a continuous wet state. That is not good news for the wood underneath. With Clean+Green, I don’t have that problem. I think with the propellant spray design it is more concentrated and needs less water. Therefore, it cuts down on cleaning and drying time.

Cleaning cat pee is only one of the many uses. You can choose from 17 different cans of Clean+Green on their website http://www.odorandstainremover.com
Here are the products they carry:
1. Carpet & Upholstery Stain, Odor Eliminator, Cleaner & Stain Remover (for Cats, Dogs and Dogs/Cats)
2. Concrete Odor Eliminator, Cleaner& Stain Remover (for Cats and Dogs)
3. Furniture Refresher (for Cats, Dogs and Dogs/Cats)
4. Wood& Tile Odor Eliminator, Cleaner & Stain Remover (for Cats, Dogs and Dogs/Cats)
5. Auto
6. De-Skunk Coat Cleaner
7. Litter Box Odor Eliminator and Cleaner
8. Small Animal- All Purpose Odor Eliminator and Cleaner
9. Cage Odor Eliminator & Cleaner (for Birds and Ferret) Spray

The product I chose, which is the carpet and upholstery cleaner, can be used on any water safe surface. That means it can be used on beds, couches, chairs and carpets.

What do I ♥ about it?

I love that it is natural and safe. It is biodegradable, water soluble and fragrance free! The ingredients are: Cane sugar derivatives, proprietary blend of botanical extracts, hydrated cellulose (cleaning agents) purified water and nitrogen.
I love how easy it is to use! With a toddler running around it is hard to find time to clean up such a stinky mess. With Clean+Green I was able to pull up the carpet, spray, and be done in less than 15 minutes.

What would I change?

I would like to see larger sizes available in the future. It says the can is recyclable but I don't know how I would do that where I live. Most consumers tend to throw bottles and cans away if they don't know how to recycle them. So, larger cans would mean less waste and more wonderful product!

What do I think overall?

It is nice to find someone who is dedicated enough to create and share great products (ones that are safe and efficient). I highly recommend Clean+Green and plan to use it again in the future. I would like to try the Auto Cleaner and the Litter Box Order Eliminator.

BUY IT:
At http://www.odorandstainremover.com you can get free shipping. A 14 oz. can runs about $10-$13.

WIN IT:
Come back April 12th-22nd for the Earth Day event for a chance to win 3 cans of Clean+Green!

Why I choose cloth diapers

Besides  the fact that cloth diapering saves money and is better for the environment, I also have control over what goes on my babies bum. It doesn't seem like an extra chore for me. When I pull out dirty inserts and wash diapers I am happy knowing I am doing the best I can for my baby. I couldn't think of using disposables again.

I am currently cloth diapering our second child who is 3 months now. It's going so great that I got some cloth trainers for our 3 year old. Chase has two pairs of super undies and we just got his new flip trainer pack in the mail yesterday. Vallon has a flip cover with organic inserts. The inserts are so soft and absorbent. So, I knew right away that the flip trainer with organic inserts would be great. Here are the boys with their green diapers, just in time for St. Patrick's Day!

If you enjoy cloth diapering as much as I do, then show your love and post a picture of your cuties on my facebook page, Earth Faerie Momma!
