Jake and the Neverland Pirates Boys Costumes Review

This year Chase chose to be a pirate for Halloween! He adores the show, Jake and the Neverland Pirates so he chose this costume from Halloween Adventures.

He definitely looks like Jake!

Features:

  • All one piece
  • Easy velcro
  • Comes with boot covers
  • Affordable
  • Made of polyester
  • Good design

We got a size 4-6 and the fit is great (Chase is 4.5 years old). It’s easy to put on. I like that the shirt, pants and vest are one piece so he doesn't lose any while he plays with it. This costume is only $14.99, which is definitely in our budget. There is elastic in the back to keep the costume fitted but expandable.

It held up great in the wash. It says to hand wash, but I made sure the velcro was covered and put it on a gentle cycle. Then I air dried it. Since it's made of polyester the fabric dries fast, without wrinkles and was not stiff.

Little pirate adventures

We encountered a few problems. The headband that came with it was way too small. It doesn't even fit Vallon who is 18 months old. Maybe it was a defect. Lucky I have a red bandana that goes perfect with the outfit. That's what Chase is wearing in all the photos. All we are missing now is the sword (which isn't included). I think we will go with a soft felt sword from Etsy.

Overall we are happy with the costume. Chase will have many pirate adventures whether or not it is Halloween. I would recommend it for any child who wants to be Jake!
